Scent Idea

subjectScent Idea

Hello,

I am writing you about a scent idea I have for a new soap. KFC soap! I think this is a great idea. Every time I eat at KFC I love how I smell when I leave. Sometimes I go just for the scent. I would love to lather myself in KFC scent. What do you think? Is this a good idea or what? I think so. I almost got a job at KFC because I love the scent, but I was not qualified. I believe that I am, but whatever. That is neither here nor there. I did, however, try to start eating at Popeye's for a week, but the scent was just not the same.

Also, what about a burnt popcorn scent? I always leave popcorn in the microwave longer than suggested because I love the scent. I believe that billions of other Americans do the same thing. People love this SCENT!

Please let me know what you think of my scent ideas. I could be a great asset to your company.

Thanks,
Sasha

Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. At the moment we are not working on any projects that would suit this type of fragrance but I will bear in mind for future projects.

Thanks

Oregon Trail

Subject: Oregon Trail
From: Sasha Kaun <sasha.kaun24@gmail.com>

Hello Alice,

My name is Sasha Kaun and I am very interested in visiting Oregon.
Specifically, the Oregon Trail. I first became very interested in
the Oregon Trail when I played the video game as a child. I believe
this is what prompted my interest in both Geography and History. I
even earned a full academic scholarship to Purdue University. Now, I
am a senior double majoring in both Geography and History (very near
the top of my class I might add). I would very much like to visit
Oregon this summer.

It is my goal to backpack the entire Oregon Trail. Do you allow
backpackers to hike anywhere along the trail or just in designated
areas? I have much knowledge of the Oregon Trail and would like you
stop at many of the historical areas along the way. I am VERY
excited!

Would Portland International Airport be the best airport for me to
fly into to begin my journey or is another airport closer to the
beginning of the Oregon Trail? Do I need a permit to travel along
the trail?

I know you will be able to answer my questions and help me prepare
for my trip. If you could pass along any brochures or maps that
might be helpful to me, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Sasha Kaun

Dear Sasha: Your plan to visit Oregon and hike the Oregon Trail sounds
fun. Unfortunately, it would be difficult to backpack the entire trail,
as much of the trail route runs through private property, or is covered by
roads and freeway. There are portions of the Trail on Bureau of Land
Management and Forest Service public land that you can hike, and some
private landowners are fine with people hiking the route if you ask them
first and respect their proerty. If you send us a mailing address, we can
send you some maps on sites and segments that can be hiked.

subjectWrangell Visit

Hello,

I am interested in the Borough Manager position in Wrangell, Alaska. I have just a few questions I need answered.

1. Do I need a passport to visit Wrangell?
2. What is the local currency? Are there many currency conversion shops around town. I will be traveling from the United States so I will only be carrying US Dollars.
3. What language is most commonly spoken?

I have never been abroad before so I am very much looking forward to it. I am looking for a new opportunity and feel that I could be a great asset to the town of Wrangell. Where should I send my resume?

Thank you,
Sasha

Sasha, I am sorry, I have been traveling and just received your email.

Alaska is part of the United States, so if you are an American citizen traveling from another State, you will not need a passport. If you are traveling from abroad, you will. The local currency is US Dollars. English is our native language.

Please submit your resume to: Prothman, 3633 136th PL SE, Suite 206, Bellevue WA 98006

President Obama

Subject: President Obama

Hello, I have heard that you offered President Obama a spot to pitch for the Reds. What did he say? As much as this would help ticket sales, I'm not sure that it would help the team. I think President Obama is a better basketball player. Perhaps the Bulls will sign him. Do you think this will happen? I just have a few questions on how President Obama will pitch for the Reds.

1. Is he allowed to have two jobs? Did George W. Bush have two jobs? What was his other job?

2. Will he be forced to travel with the team on days he doesn't pitch? I think it would be appropriate if he could go back to being President when it is not his turn in the rotation.

3. When is President Obama bobblehead day? I want to get tickets.

4. What number is he wearing? I want to get a jersey.

5. Has a President ever played Major League Baseball? I would think this is unprecedented.

I look forward to hearing from you and know you will be able to answer my questions.

Thanks,

Sasha

Sasha.

We have asked President Obama to throw out a first pitch and not become a member of our pitching staff. Also as far as I know there has been no sitting president that has played professional sports. We are also not doing a bobblehead of the president. I hope this answers your questions. Thank you for your interest.

Selling More Ice Cream

subjectSelling More Ice Cream

Hello,

I am writing you about a great marketing promotion idea for Frostee Delites Ice Cream. I thought of this idea myself. I think it will be great. People from all over the world will now know of Frostee Delites Ice Cream. Business will be BOOMING! I do not even want a portion of the revenue. I am suggesting this because I want Frostee Delites Ice Cream to succeed in this post-9/11 economy. Children need ice cream on a hot summer day!

My suggestion: Put the Frostee Delites Ice Cream truck on a raft and float it over Niagara Falls. This would be sure to attract attention. It would also be safe (please don't forget your safety belt!). Also, do not forget to make sure the music is playing very loudly the entire time. This is important. Perhaps you could even hire a celebrity to drive the truck if you want to videotape it.

My suggestion: Chad Michael Murray

Please let me know what you think of my idea. I can help with any preparation work.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sasha

Upon reading the first paragraph of your email, thought it was kind of interesting. Upon reading the entire email, it pretty much stinks!!

I try to run a good clean business truck that brings a lot of joy to both children and adults. At times with price increases and increases in the operation of the truck and associated equipment, without raising prices, it has made difficult situations.

Apparently, my music is a bother to you, sorry about that, but for many it is a joy. But for you to suggest that it would be funny to see my truck and business destroyed, even though in jest, is simply unacceptable.

I don't know who you are, where you live, or what you do for a living, or if you have ever purchased anything from me. That is your business; however, this is my business and I take it very personally when it and myself are attacked or made fun of.

Hopefully you will have a nice summer, I certainly hope I do!!

Sincerely,
Don Neubert

Pequod's Pizza

subjectPequods Pizza

Hello,

I am writing to apply for the position of dough maker. I excel at making dough. It is one of the few things I do well.

You see, many years ago I lost most functionality of my hand in an unfortunate revolving door incident. Total repair was not an option so instead of living with a disfigured hand the rest of my life, I decided to have a hook implanted instead. I have always been infatuated with pirates so I quite enjoyed being fitted for my hook. Most days I dress like Captain Hook. I have been involved in many carnivals, re-enactments, and Bar Mitzvahs. Although I do have to wear a mask when I sleep to keep from gouging my eyes out, my life has been pretty pleasant.

However, in this post 9/11 economy, people are not spending as much money as previously on garishly dressed men (even with the hook!). Money has been a little tight around my house. Therefore, I would like to apply for the position of making dough. I can use my hook to my advantage over normal two-handed humans. I make great dough! Please hire me! You KNEAD me!

Can I wear my pirate costume while making the dough? I think this would be a great addition to the restaurant. I will even talk like a pirate. ARRRRRRRRRight?

Please let me know what the next step will be. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
Sasha Kaun

Great Feats by Women

subjectGreat Feats by Women

Hello,

My name is Sasha. I have to write an essay on the great feats achieved by women. I am having trouble thinking of any. Do you think you can help me think of some?

Has a women ever been President? If not, why haven't there been any? I looked at the list of Presidents and the only one I though might be was Millard Fillmore. Was this person a female? What kind of name is Millard anyway? Also, as part of my essay I have to discuss what accomplishments women will achieve in the future. Do you think there will ever be a female President? I heard on 24 there is a woman President. Does this count?

What other kinds of great feats have women achieved? I know there has to be at least one great feat achieved by a woman, but I am having a huge brain freeze. I just can't even think of one! I hate it when this happens.

I know you will be able to help me and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Sasha

Dear Sasha -- thanks so much for reaching out to feminist.com. And sadly no a woman hasn't yet been president of the United States -- Fillmore was a man and no idea on the origin of the name. Hillary Clinton in fact was the first woman to make a successful run for president -- and that was only last year. And I don't think the fiction version counts -- lots of things can happen in fiction -- like coming back to life or finding a cure for AIDS -- but that doesn't change the reality of things. In terms of actual feats -- try the National Women's History Project -- they will certainly list milestones on their site -- also there are women like Mae Jemision, Ruth Simmons, Sandra Day O'Connor -- googling them will lead you to firsts and feats. Good luck -- amy
