Hello Julie,

I am the Vice President of an organization known as RAPER (Reusing And Protecting Earth's Resources).  We would like to start a campaign to increase awareness of RAPER and our values.  What do you suggest would be the most effective method to do so?  As a non-profit organization we have limited resources but we would like to maximize our reach.

Please let me know your recommendations.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Sasha Kaun

Hi Sasha,
We'd love to help. Would it be possible to set up a meeting...Are you local? How did hear about VIA?
Thanks
Julie

Julie,
Thank you for the quick reply.  I was able to find you through a Bing search as you were one of the first results.  We are local, however, I am traveling frequently right now attempted to secure additional funding so email will be my best contact initially.
Do you have any initial ideas for RAPER?  We are very committed to saving Earth's future!  I know people think that if it is inevitable, then relax and enjoy it, but we can put an end to this!  Don't be a victim!  We would like to force this message upon people.  Billboards, buses, television, flyers, a website, Facebook, Twitter, Bing Plus, whatever works best!  Obviously, we are limited financially, but we want to do whatever it takes.
Please let me know what you think.  I can put you in touch with others in the RAPER organization.  Please let me know if you would also like to speak with Mike, our President, or Tyson, our Marketing Manager.  They are not local, but would be willing to set up a phone meeting.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Sasha

Hi Sasha,
We start with a budget and a geography. How much can you commit to monthly and how far geographically does it need to go? Do need us to work the Northwest Indiana market?

Good morning Julie,

While we would like to focus on the NW Indiana market, we would also like to eventually expand nationally.  What do you think would be the best areas to penetrate?

I spoke with Mike and Tyson and they committed $20,000 to the RAPER campaign.  They want to make it clear that the campaign is to attack individuals not consenting to the deep values and beliefs of RAPER.  Individuals not focusing on protecting Earth!!

Let me know if this is a good start (geographically and financially).

I look forward to hearing from you,
Sasha

Hi Sasha,

I was looking for a phone number so we can touch base. I didn't find a website easily. Do you have one?
That started me wondering if you need the basics like a logo, stationery, website, brochure, etc.
Yes $20,000 is a good start for media in Northwest Indiana. Are you hoping this generates donations as well?   We will combine PR (including PSAs for radio), billboards and cable for a 3-month blitz.
I not sure the word "attack" is appropriate. Maybe educate is the first step to changing behaviors. You may be able to guilt some folks into it.

Thanks
Julie

Julie,

Yes, we are hoping this campaign generates donations as well.

As far as a website, it appears that RAPER.com is already taken.  Do you think helpRAPER.com would be a suitable site we could use?  It does not appear to be taken.

I do agree that perhaps "attack" is not the best word to use.  But as I stated earlier, we do want to force our message on them and we won't take "no" for an answer.  We do not take our organization lightly and we hope this campaign will raise awareness and help people think likewise.  I also agree that we want folks feeling guilty or shameful.

Finally, what would you think about a "RAPER Kick-Off Event" to launch the campaign?  Having members of the organization invite friends/family to this event.  We would provide free drinks and Hors d'oeuvres.  We would not only raise awareness, but seek donations.  However, it has been my experience that people are more willing to give it up after several drinks so I think a "RAPER Kick-Off Event" would be successful.

Please let me know what you think of these ideas and if you have any of your own.

Thanks,

Sasha
